Butterfly People
Every night before bed, Belle and Trey climb into my lap for Bible story time. Before I read the story, I ask them to look at the picture with the story and tell me what they see. The story last night was about the birth of Jesus and there was an illustration of a typical angel with wings. It was Trey's turn to identify things he saw, and he pointed at the angel and said, that's a "butterfly people".

The other day, Trey was sitting in Jeff's lap. Trey picked his nose and said, "Look Daddy! I made a spiderweb!"

Mealtime Prayers
The kids have started praying for meals. Trey’s prayers are simply “Thank you Jesus, Amen.” But Belle prays for different things each time. Today at lunch Belle prayed, “And thank you for everything I want.”

For a while now, Trey has known his letter names, letter sounds, and numbers. In the past two weeks, Trey has started using basic three-word sentences and has expanded his vocabulary quite a bit. However, unless you're around him a lot, you don't recognize all that he says.
This evening I was fixing dinner and he was up on the stool beside the counter, supervising me. I had rolled out some dough to wrap around the hot dogs andhad cut away the excess. I left the scraps on the counter while I popped the hot togs into the oven, then went to the fridge to get my kombucha. When I turned around, Trey had a handfull of the dough scraps, and was happily munching away on them. He pointed to the bottle of kombucha and promptly exclaimed "Share!"
I had a good laugh, as that's the first time I've heard him use that word. I poured him some in a small glass, he swigged it down and asked for seconds.
